The Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) is a strategic initiative aimed at improving the nutritional quality of Indonesian children while strengthening national food security. The implementation of this program requires the readiness of mass kitchens capable of producing nutritious meals consistently, hygienically, and efficiently on a large scale.
Marketing Director of PT Sanwoo Electronics, Muhamad Tofan, stated that the company introduces the Sanwoo Gas Rice Steamer (GRS) as a professional kitchen equipment solution for mass food processing. The GRS is designed with large capacity, more efficient gas consumption, and stable, evenly distributed cooking results.
“This makes it suitable for school kitchens, community kitchens, and food service facilities involved in the MBG program,” Tofan said in an official statement on Tuesday (December 16, 2025).
In addition to cooking rice, Tofan explained that the GRS also supports the preparation of various steamed menu items such as eggs and side dishes, which are essential components of a balanced diet. The use of food-grade stainless steel 304 material ensures hygiene standards and food safety are consistently maintained in high-intensity kitchen operations.
“The MBG program requires more than good intentions; it also demands adequate kitchen infrastructure,” Tofan emphasized. Through the Indonesian Catering Entrepreneurs Association (APJI), Sanwoo aims to ensure that catering service providers have access to high-quality equipment capable of supporting the efficient production of nutritious meals.
For reference, Sanwoo’s support for the MBG program is realized through its collaboration with the Indonesian Catering Entrepreneurs Association (APJI). During the 2025 APJI Jakarta Regional Working Meeting (Rakerda) held at Lippo Swasana Kuningan, Jakarta, Sanwoo and APJI officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as a shared commitment to strengthening the readiness of the catering service industry.
